Angel C. Weaver, PhD, LPC

Angel Charpia Weaver grew up in Summerville, SC. After graduating from Clemson (Go Tigers!) in 1996 with a Bachelor of the Arts in Psychology, she moved back to the Lowcountry. Angel then completed a Masters in Counselor Education from the Citadel and worked as an elementary School Counselor in Charleston County public schools for 6 years, helping children through individual and group counseling. Deciding to go back to school yet again, she completed a Doctorate in Counseling from Liberty University, a degree that has given her an in-depth understanding of how to integrate the Christian world-view and theology into the clinical counseling process. Her dissertation research topics included the areas of eating disorders, emotional regulation, adult attachment and attachment to God.
Dr. Weaver's clinical areas of interest include depression, anxiety, eating disorders, trauma resolution and PTSD, grief and loss, life transition difficulties, spiritual issues such as doubt and troubled relationships with God, body image and self-concept, shame and identity formation, emotional regulation difficulties and dysfunctional relationship patterns.
Dr. Weaver has closed her private practice. She is currently a full-time Assistant Professor of Psychology at Charleston Southern University.
